As 'Whip It' Blares, 2 Thieves Walk Away With Devo Fan's TV
While the woman was upstairs jamming to the popular song, the burglars saunter into her family room and carry away her TV.
COLUMBUS, OH – One Devo fan won't be so happy the next time she hears the Akron band's "Whip It." While in her home jamming to the song, a pair of burglars snuck into her home and pilfered her television.
A home security video caught the theft. It shows two men, sneaking past a curtain in a doorway and into the woman's family room. Meanwhile Devo's famous tune is blaring:
When a good time turns around
You must whip it
You will never live it down
Unless you whip it
No one gets away
Until they whip it
In a Facebook post, Columbus Police say the burglary took place in broad daylight, at 1:40 p.m. on April 29. The thieves entered the woman's unlocked apartment at Wilkes Court at Ashton Pines Apartment & Townhomes in the Hilltop of Columbus.
