Stan Hywet's 2017 'Deck The Hall: Postcards From The Past' Shines

CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH -- Stan Hywet Hall's annual holiday tradition "Deck the Hall" continues into December with its Post Cards of the Past theme. Designed around the Deck the Hall 2017: Post Cards of the Past theme, the entire estate, including the historic Manor House, is decorated and illuminated inside and out with over a million lights. The outdoor show titled, "Dazzle" is choreographed to three, new songs and includes Gingerbread Land, the popular Play Garden, also dressed up for the season. Stan Hywet Hall is located at 714 North Portage Path, Akron OH 44303.

More Details:

• Nightly tree lighting begins at 5:30 p.m. (After Christmas, look for the Gingerbread Man.)
• Live music in the Music Room, courtesy of area choirs and musicians.
• Self-guided tours of the Manor House included in ticket purchase.
• Freshly baked gingerbread cookies, savory warm pretzels, cocoa, hot cider, beer and wine for purchase in the Courtyard.
• Enjoy all of the above treats at the cozy-warm fire in the Courtyard.
• Visit with Santa and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in the Corral in the Courtyard.
• Two featured photo spots are available for that perfect family holiday picture.
• Marvel at our new animated Gingerbread Bakeshop Window in the Courtyard.
• The tropical Corbin Conservatory is decorated for Christmas as well and includes a 20-foot poinsettia tree.
• Shop for unique holiday gifts in Molly’s Shop.
• After the tour, attendees can enjoy light fare or a sweet treat in Molly's Cafe.

Helpful Hints:

• Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. This is a walking experience with various weather conditions and elevations.
• Purchase tickets on-site at the admissions area beginning at 5 p.m.
• Online and phone ticket sales end at 5 p.m., when the event begins. After that point, tickets can be purchased upon arrival.
• The first floor of the Manor House is handicapped accessible.
• Outdoor heaters are provided in viewing and waiting areas, when the temperature is below freezing.
• Strollers, food and beverages ARE allowed on the grounds and in the Corbin Conservatory, but NOT in the historic Manor House.
• Deck the Hall is rarely affected by inclement weather, however check the Web site for updates. (Updates will also be posted on Facebook and Twitter as well.)

• Select evenings through Dec. 30, 2017, 5-8 p.m.
• NOTE: early publications indicate several extra evenings for Deck the Hall. Correct dates for Deck the Hall are:
  • Nov. 24-26; Nov. 30 and
  • Dec. 1-3; 7-10; 14-23 and 26-30.
• Last admission, 8 p.m.. Estate is open until 9 p.m.

Tickets Sundays through Thursdays:

• Non-members: $18 adults (18+) , $7 youth (6-17).
• Stan Hywet Members: $14 adults, $6.00 youth

Tickets Fridays & Saturdays:

• Non-members: $18 adults (18+) , $7 youth (6-17)
• Stan Hywet members: $16 adults, $7 youth
• Non-members: $22 adults (18+), $9 youth.

Tickets for Children, College Students

• Children five & under are free.
• College students with a valid student ID qualify for the youth rate

Parking:

• Free on-site parking is available in the main lot. Once the lot is full, guests will be directed to auxiliary parking lots where they will be shuttled back to Stan Hywet Hall.
• Handicapped parking spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Accessibility:

• Only the first floor of the Manor House is wheelchair accessible. Level Paths to and from the Manor House, down the Dazzle Path and to the Corbin Conservatory are kept as clear as possible of snow and ice.
