Thieves Plunder Portage Crossing: Crime Blotter

The following information was supplied by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thieves hit up Portage Crossing recently and stole nearly $20,000 in construction supplies.

A Thompson Electric employee told Cuyahoga Falls police someone stole five bundles of galvanized conduit (in 3-inch diameter) and eight sets of anchor bolts from the construction site near Portage Trail and State Road.

Total estimated loss is $19,520.

The items were stolen sometime between March 11 and March 18.

  • Someone broke into a car parked in a driveway in the 200 block of Victor Avenue and stole wallet with ID, miscellaneous credit cards and a checkbook from the trunk. The theft took place between 6 p.m. March 17 and 7:30 a.m. March 18.
  • A Canton man told police someone stole a prescription bottle of Xanax pills from his car that was parked in the 100 block of Steels Corners Road between 5:45 a.m. and noon March 12. Estimated loss is $8.
  • A case of 10 CDs, $5 in loose change and a bottle of Norco, a prescription narcotic, were stolen from a car in the 1600 block of 2nd Street between 12:30 and 9:40 a.m. March 17. Estimated loss is $120.
