West Virgina Man Arrested in Summit County With One Pound of Marijauna

Troopers say the marijauna is valued at $5,000.

SUMMIT COUNTY, OH - A Hedgesville, West Virginia man was carrying a pound of marijuana through Summit County Nov. 29 when Ohio State Highway Patrol officers arrested him.

At 12:07 p.m., Kherry Norris, 40, was allegedly weaving through lanes when officers stopped him. When troopers approached the vehicle they could smell marijuana. A probable cause search of the car found high-grade marijuana.

Norris was incarcerated in the Summit County Jail. He was charged for trafficking in marijuana, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of marijuana, a fifth-degree felony.

Troopers say the pound of marijuana is worth about $5,000.

Ohio has seen a 25 percent increase in drugged driving crashes since 2012. There have been 3,574 drugged driving crashes already this year, or about 33 percent of all impaired driving crashes.
