3 Ways to Steal from Stores (and Get Caught): Police Blotter

1. An employee of Macy's was nabbed Aug. 22 trying to steal clothing from the store at Summit Mall, according  to a report.

Police said a store security officer saw her taking price tags off baby clothes and throwing them in the trash, then placing the clothing in a bag under the cash register. At closing, she took the bag and left the store. 

She also admitted to stealing a pair of jeans the day before. She agreed to return the jeans.

The former employee was charged with theft and banned from the store indefinitely.

2. A woman was spotted taking 12 items valued at $118 from Victoria's Secret and putting them in her purse Aug. 22.

When she was stopped and searched, police also found three pipes, two push rods and a metal spoon in the purse.

She was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

3. At Walmart, a woman put an electric lawnmower valued at $299 in her cart and pushed it out the door without paying Aug. 20. She was stopped in the parking lot and arrested.
