Fairlawn-Bath Township Ohio Community Events: Dinner with Lincoln, 'Much Ado About Nothing,' More

FAIRLAWN-BATH, OH -- Fairlawn and Bath, Ohio communities should mark their calendars for the upcoming holiday festivities. Events include a presentation from author Robert Roman who will discuss his book about untold football stories from OSU; A Shakespeare performance by the Revere Players who will perform "Much Ado About Nothing;" Countryside Conservancy will hold a Winter Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. to noon at Old Trail School Sunday, Nov. 18; and Hale Farm & Village Lantern Tours kick off Dec. 2.


Author Robert Roman To Discuss New Book, Ohio State Football: The Forgotten Dawn Nov. 16 at Fairlawn-Bath Library

Author Robert Roman will discuss his book titled, "Ohio State Football: The Forgotten Dawn" Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairlawn-Bath Library. Roman's book focuses on untold stories from the early days of OSU football. Books will be available for purchase, and a book signing will follow.

Revere High School Players To Present 'Much Ado About Nothing' Nov. 17-19

Revere Players Presents Shakespeare's “Much Ado About Nothing” Nov. 17-19. Performance times are Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.

Countryside's Winter Farm Market at Old Trail School

Countryside Conservancy’s Winter Farmers’ Market will be held Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. - noon at Old Trail School, located at 2315 Ira Road, Akron, Ohio 44333. Other dates include:

  • December 2, 9 and 16
  • January 6 and 20

Reserve a Spot for Thanksgiving Dinner with Abraham Lincoln

Hale Farm & Village, celebrates an American tradition by hosting a classic Thanksgiving feast with President Lincoln Nov. 18 from 3:30-6 p.m. Costumed interpreters will be on-hand to share stories and music of the season with guests.

The MarketPlace at Hale Farm & Village: Holiday Market On The Farm

This year Hale Farm & Village welcomes multiple vendors to the Gatehouse for a one-of-a-kind, All-Ohio shopping experience. On Dec. 1 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., visit the store: The MarketPlace at Hale Farm & Villagefor handcrafted at Hale products. Other Ohio and holiday brands will be featured as well such as: The Direction, Root Candles, Mud Pie, Daisy Mae Designs, Old World Christmas, Metropolis Popcorn, Thistle Dew, Bissels Maple, Waggoners Chocolates and more.

Enjoy Ohio-themed wine and beer tastings, or relax by the fire with a glass of mulled wine. We also welcome a Kitchen Takeover by Bomba Tacos & Rum. Explore the updated Holiday Market on the Farm shopping experience. (No Admission fee, the museum is not open this day.)

The MarketPlace at Hale Farm & Village is also open 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Nov. 8, 15 and 29 and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25.


Hale Farm & Village Holiday Lantern Tours: Experience Christmas, 1863

Hale Farm & Village Holiday Lantern Tours begin Dec. 2 from 5:40 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Experience the sights, sounds and flavors of Christmas Eve 1863 via rotating 90-minute tours throughout Hale Farm & Village. Take a charming lantern-lit tour of the Village and visit the historic houses, delightfully-decorated. Experience the holiday season as it was celebrated in the 19th century, Western Reserve. Afterward, join guests for holiday treats.

The Lantern Tours take place at Hale Farm & Village, located at 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath, 44210. Tour dates include: Dec. 2, 3, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 19-23.

Tours depart every twenty minutes beginning at 5:40 pm. Dress appropriately for this indoor-outdoor activity. The tours last about 90 minutes. The cost structure is: $20 for non-members, $15 for WRHS members and $12 for children, ages 3-12. Group rates are available.
