Registration for the Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio (gotrNEO) spring season is now open. The gotrNEO program is offered each spring and fall throughout our five counties: Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit.

Enrollment is limited to 15 girls per team, and financial assistance for registration costs is available.

Girls on the Run is a non-profit program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that integrates confidence building, community service and physical activity.

“Female adolescence is an especially difficult time period for any girl, no matter her background,” explained Robyn Cutler, Director for Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio. “Girls can struggle with life’s challenges, losing sight of who they are or how they fit in. Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio helps girls overcome these challenges. We can help provide the essential tools to embrace their individual strengths and teach them how to make healthy lifestyle decisions.”

Teams begin meeting the week of March 7th for ten weeks. The season then culminates in an untimed 5k for the girls, coaches, family members and community on May 22nd.

The Girls on the Run program is celebrated nationally, with more than 200 events held across the U.S. “Last fall, we brought together more than 600 girls from five Northeast Ohio counties,” shared Cutler. “We look forward to kicking off this spring season and helping to empower another group of amazing young girls.”
