Sweating, Shaking and Tattoos Give Suspect Away: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

A Bath police officer quickly put the pieces together when he saw a man walking out of the woods about 1:15 p.m. July 7.

A report said Copley police called Bath officers for help after a suspect in a shoplifting incident fled.

The Bath officer pulled into the HH Gregg lot and spotted a man walking out of a nearby wooded area.

He questioned the man, who said he had been visiting a friend on that street. The officer asked why he was sweating and shaking, and the man replied he'd been drinking the previous night and it was hot outside.

But when the officer confirmed the suspect's description, that clinched it. The man had tattoos on his forearms and one one leg, just like the guy in the woods.

He was taken into custody.
