Adults to Join in Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Adults will get the chance to hunt for candy and prize-filled eggs this year as part of Kent's annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The Kent Parks and Recreation Department is holding an adult egg scramble Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Fred Fuller Park. Participants must be 18 or older.

For the adult event, the cost is $10 and participants will get to use a flashlight to hunt in the dark for eggs.

The eggs are filled with prize tickets for some big-ticket items, including: a bicycle from Portage Cyclery a tablet via PC Surgeons; a Cleveland Cavaliers hat autographed by Tristan Thompson; concert tickets to the Kent Stage and more.

Nancy Rice, Kent Parks and Recreation supervisor, said they have more than $2,600 in prizes to give away at the event, which will be held rain, shine or snow.

"I'm hoping for the sun but don't think I am going to get it," Rice said.

To register for the first-ever adult egg hunt you can visit the Kent Parks and Recreation Department office or register the day of the event.

The annual children's Easter egg hunt is set for Saturday at Fred Fuller Park with the Easter Bunny set to arrive at 12:45 p.m. via a fire engine.

More than 5,000 eggs will be hidden throughout the park for children between the ages of 3 and 9 years old.
