Bring Your Beards: Mentor's Garfield Gallop Is Nov. 19

The City of Mentor is hosting the annual Garfield Gallop 5K walk / run race Sun., Nov. 19 at the James Garfield National Historic Site.

KENT, OH -- The City of Mentor is hosting its second annual 2017 Garfield Gallop -- a 5K walk and run race that begins at 8:30 a.m., Sun., Nov. 19. Participants will begin and end the race at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site, which is located at 8095 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio 44060.

All participants will receive:

  • A Righteous Beard costume (or bring your own)
  • Participant Medal
  • T-Shirt
  • Commemorative Racing Bib
  • Goodie Bag
  • A Piece of Birthday Cake for President Garfield's 186th Birthday
  • Free admission to the Garfield home
