After a remarkable run, Police Chief Michelle Lee announced her plans to bring her career as Police Chief to an end during 2020. That led to a round of Police Chief testing, resulting in the promotion of Captain Nick Shearer to Police Chief with Michelle’s departure. There is no replacing Chief Lee but Kent is excited to see Shearer take the helm as our Police Chief and continue the great work in community policing that Chief Lee worked so hard on.

As Shearer assumes his new role as Chief, Lieutenant Jennifer Ennemoser was promoted to Services Captain, while Captain Jim Prusha moved over to Operations Captain role. Sergeant Ryan Gaydosh was promoted to Lieutenant and Officer Josh Nelson was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, rounding out what will be one of the most dedicated leadership teams in the City. When a Chief retires it creates a lot of shifting of positions to fill the voids at each level. Eventually the open position in the patrol division will be filled as well.
