Tyler Heintz, Kent State Student, Received Appropriate Oversight Before Death: University
One coach was fired after the incident for giving false information about his certification.

KENT, OH — Tyler Heintz, a freshman offensive lineman at Kent State, was rushed to the hospital after a morning workout on June 13. He died that day, but questions persisted about exactly what happened.
The university has now fired a football strength and conditioning coach who was at the workout because it found he had given false information about his certification. The other staff members overseeing the conditioning session were properly certified, the university said. (For more on this and other local stories, subscribe to the Kent Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
