Up To 1,500 People Without Power In Lakewood

Strong storms rolled through Northeast Ohio on Monday night and early Tuesday morning. They left many without electricity.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Some 1,500 FirstEnergy customers in Lakewood are currently without power. Strong storms have left pockets of Northeast Ohio in the dark on Tuesday.

According to FirstEnergy's outages map, the majority of Lakewood's blacked out areas are centered around Madison Avenue, not far from Larchmont Avenue. The cause of the outage has not yet been determined, FirstEnergy said.

The energy company expects power to be restored to most impacted Lakewood residents by 10 a.m. However, thunderstorms are expected to hit Northeast Ohio throughout Tuesday, so additional outages may crop up during the day.
