1st Executive Director For Healthy Lakewood Foundation Announced

Kate Ingersoll will be the inaugural director of the nonprofit.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Kate Ingersoll has been selected as the first executive director of the Healthy Lakewood Foundation.

The foundation was launched in 2018 after the conversion of Lakewood Hospital. Since its inception, the foundation awards grants and supports programs encouraging health and well-being in Lakewood.

Ingersoll was the foundation's board secretary starting in fall 2018. After a nationwide search, she was selected to lead the organization into the future.

“Kate is holistic and deeply thoughtful – she has a clear passion for HLF and the Lakewood community,” the hiring task force said in a statement. “She has an unwavering commitment to diversity and equity, and seeks to have a direct impact on the social determinants of health for Lakewood residents.”

Ingersoll was previously part of the Brush Foundation, where she worked as program director. Over the past 20 years, she's worked for a variety of nonprofits in the Cleveland area.

She has a bachelor's degree in political science from the College of Wooster. She and her husband live in Lakewood and are raising their two children in the community.

Moving forward, the foundation intends to pivot from focusing specifically on the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic to a more "holistic, long-term grant making strategy."
