8 Lakewood Restaurants Look To Expand Outdoor Dining Amid COVID
Eight Lakewood restaurants are trying to expand their outdoor dining options to better serve customers while maintaining social distancing.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Eight restaurants have applied for expanded outdoor dining spaces in Lakewood, according to the Planning Commission's agenda. The commission will consider all eight applications during its June 4 meeting.
The applications for expansion rely on the recently passed Outdoor Dining resolution, which allows restaurants to temporarily enlarge their outdoor space for customers. The goal is to give business owners as much space as possible to safely serve customers.

- Melt Bar and Grill,
- El Carnicero,
- Cleveland Vegan,
- Salt+,
- Harry Buffalo,
- LBM,
- Mars Bar, and
- Mahall's Twenty Lanes
Each request for additional space is different. Here are just a few examples of what restaurants are seeking.
Melt is requesting an outdoor expansion to accommodate six tables, or 40 guests. The expansion would be in the back of Melt, near their existing patio space.

Cleveland Vegan is proposing adding one table to the left of the storefront, where there is 11 feet of open space, and two tables to the right of the storefront, where there is 18 feet of open space. A fourth table will be placed near Cleveland Vegan's and LeSalsa's shared alcove.
Harry Buffalo wants to add space to the left of the restaurant. Managers said they wanted to create seating for 28 customers.
LBM wants to add 10 bistro-style tables, with umbrellas, near Lark Ave. and Madison Ave. Each bistro table would have seating for three people.
