Christmas Eve Food Pantry At St. Ed's In Lakewood

St. Edward High will provide produce, eggs, canned goods, and more to the vulnerable in the community.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Students and volunteers at St. Edward High will take a break from their regular holiday traditions to help those in-need on Christmas Eve. The group will give out food to nearly 200 people in the Lakewood community.

St. Ed's has run a food pantry for the local vulnerable for years. On Dec. 24, a group of 70 volunteers, comprised of parents, students, staff, and alums, will distribute milk, eggs, canned goods, and other foods to those in-need, according to Rick Kubrak, who organizes the pantry.

The pantry will held in the high school lobby from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. St. Ed's partners with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to organize the event.

"As a choice pantry, individuals and families are encouraged to select the food items they prefer as there’s no restriction for them to take only what’s given. The goal of students at the college preparatory school is to stock the shelves of those in need with as many as five days of rations," according to a St. Ed's official.
