Cinco de Meow Fundraiser Returning To Lakewood
The fourth annual event benefits two organizations that help kittens and cats in Northeast Ohio.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The fourth annual Cinco de Meow — a benefit fundraiser for two cat rescues — will return to Lakewood on May 4.
The event will be held at Around the Corner. The fundraiser will include an all-you-can-eat taco bar, raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, a limited edition T-shirt, a chance at winning VIP tickets to meet Lil Bub (one of the Internet's favorite cats), and a $1,000 Visa gift card. There will also be giveaways for both cat and dog lovers.
Cinco de Meow started three years ago, when a group of volunteers from two cat rescues, Lucky Paws and Tails from the City, joined together and created the fundraiser. In 2018, the event hosted more than 400 guests and raised nearly $23,000.

Money raised from the May 4th event will go to the grass-roots, volunteer-run organizations. Between Lucky Paws and Tails from the City, more than 800 cats and kittens receive food, shelter, foster care, medical care, and rehabilitation.
According to Leah Kubiak, who spearheaded the creation of the event, Cinco de Meow has become a major fundraiser for both groups. The proceeds from that one night will cover the food and medical care for one feral cat route (which feeds dozens of cats daily).
