Coldest Temps In Years Chill Northern Ohio

Real temperatures are in the single digits, but wind chill makes it feel like below zero outside.

OHIO — One of the coldest nights in years brought nearly sub-zero temperatures to northern Ohio.

Tuesday night and Wednesday morning saw temperatures plunge into the single digits, with wind chills making it feel sub-zero for anyone venturing outdoors. With an overnight low of 4 degrees, northern Ohio had its coldest night since January 2019, according to News 5.

Luckily, the freezing temperatures will thaw as the day and week wears on. Wednesday will see a high of 20 degrees, while Thursday will be a comparatively balmy 30 degrees.

However, overnight lows will continue to tumble into single digits, meaning another record-breaking cold could chill the region.

"Wind chill values overnight will continue to be in the single digits, with possible sub-zero wind chills Friday night," the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather statement. Additional snowfall is also possible later this week, the agency added.
