Earth Day Clean-Up In Lakewood Park On Saturday

Plant a tree! Plant flowers! Recycling games! It's more than just picking up garbage when people come together for Earth Day.

LAKEWOOD, OH — To some, an Earth Day clean-up might sound like a drag. Imagine spending a free Saturday afternoon picking up other people's trash, hauling around clinking bags of cans and bottles. But when people come together to celebrate Earth Day, it's more than just trash collection.

On April 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Keep Lakewood Beautiful and Great American Cleanup groups will host a clean-up session at Lakewood Park. During the free event, attendees can meet a local arborist, plant a tree in the park, plant flowers in the park, and take part in a variety of recycling games and activities. And, yes, attendees can help pick-up trash from around the park.

As an extra incentive, lunch will be provided to attendees after the clean-up is finished. Attendees should meet at the Woman's Pavilion at the park.
