Grand Marshals Announced For Lakewood's July 4th Parade
The leaders of Geiger's Clothing & Sports will help kick-off the city's Independence Day festivities.

LAKEWOOD, OH —Chas and Gordon Geiger will be the grand marshals for Lakewood's annual Fourth of July parade. The two lifelong Lakewood residents have been active in various community organizations and the Greater Cleveland business community.
“In addition to being lifelong Lakewood residents, Chas and Gordon Geiger have spent decades dedicating themselves to giving back to this community,” said Mayor Mike Summers. “We are proud to have them serve as the grand marshals of the parade this year and want to honor their tireless work in the community. The Geiger’s leadership and generosity towards the betterment of Lakewood is an inspiration for us all.”
The parade will start on Lake Avenue, at Kenneth Drive, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4. The parade will conclude at Lakewood Park. The festivities will conclude in the evening, at 9:45 p.m. with a fireworks display.

The Lakewood High Ranger Marching Band, St. Edward High Marching Band, the Lochaber Pipe Band and Red Hackle Pipe Band will all take part in the parade, the city said.
Following, Wednesday's parade, festivities will kick-off in Lakewood Park. The city said attendees can expect games, food, and activities and information provided by Lakewood community organizations. At 7 p.m., the Lakewood Project, Lakewood High School's Youth Rock Orchestra, will perform at the Bandstand at Lakewood Park.

Meet the Marshals
Chas Geiger has been the president and CEO of Geiger's Clothing & Sports since 1974. He served on the Lakewood Board of Education for 23 years, including five terms as president. He was also a founding trustee of the Lakewood Public Schools Alumni Foundation. He is currently the chair of the Three Arches Foundation Board of Directors.
Chas has also supported the Kiwanis Club of Lakewood, the Downtown Lakewood Business Alliance, the Beck Center for the Arts, LakewoodAlive, the former Lakewood Hospital Foundation, the Lakewood Planning Commission, and the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. He has been named Businessperson of the Year by the latter. Finally, he has served on the First Federal Lakewood board of directors since 1999. He was elected board chair in 2016.
Gordon Geiger is also a lifelong Lakewood resident. He is the executive vice-president and co-owner of Geiger's Clothing and Sports. Gordon is a 1975 graduate of Lakewood High and attended Wittenburg University.
He is a member of the Lakewood-Rocky River Rotary Club, the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business Alliance. He is the charter president of the Lakewood-Rocky River Sunrise Rotary Club and the President of the Lakewood-Rocky River Sunrise Rotary Foundation. He is also the Director of the National Snow Sports Retailers Association and is Chairman of the Sports Specialists LTD, a national buying consortium specializing in winter and outdoor sports.
