'Holy War' Football Game Coming To Lakewood
Tickets are expected to sell out before kick-off of Saturday's St. Ignatius versus St. Edward football game.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The Holy War is a Northeast Ohio tradition. When St. Ignatius and St. Edward high schools clash on the gridiron they bring the full weight of their institutional history with them. Ghosts of former players strut the sidelines and the bleachers rock and sway with supporters.
On Saturday, the Wildcats and Eagles will reignite their feud and write another chapter in their rivalry. This year's game will be played at First Federal Lakewood Stadium. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. and the Eagles will look to continue their winning ways.
Last year, the Eagles won the Division I state championship after winning a tightly-contested game with St. Ignatius in the opening round of the playoffs. Now, St. Ed's is 5-1 and ranked No. 3 in Division I, Region I.
