ROCKY RIVER, OH — One of the Internet's favorite cats, Lil BUB, will take part in a fundraiser for the Northeast Ohio-based Tails From The City, a nonprofit that helps local cats. The event will give guests the chance to meet Lil BUB and enjoy brunch.

The meet-and-greet with Lil BUB will be held October 19 at the West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Boulevard, Rocky River. Brunch will include bagel sandwiches provided by Cocky's Bagel Sandwiches, mimosas, raffles and story time with Lil BUB and her owner Mike Bridavsky. There will then be a Q&A with Mike and Lil BUB.

Lil BUB has millions of followers on social media. The emotional story of the cat's fight to survive has been a source of inspiration to people worldwide.

This is the second year that Tails From The City has hosted Lil BUB. Organizers said last year's event, which included Lil BUB spending time with a local teenager through the Special Wish Foundation, was a huge success. There was also a fundraiser in 2018, with brunch and raffles.

Tickets for the Full Day 2019 event with Lil BUB are limited to 100 guests. A similar event last year quickly sold out. The Story of Lil BUB presentation will be open to an additional 200 guests and another sell-out is expected.

Funds raised from the event will help the grass-roots, volunteer-run Tails from the City. The organization opened its Adoption and Activity Center in 2018 and helps 500 cats and kittens each year. The group provides food, shelter, foster care, medical care, rehabilitation and solace to the felines.

Tails From The City now offers educational events, hosts meetings with adoptable cats, holds kitten yoga and more to engage the public at its Adoption and Activity Center. That facility is shared with other cat and dog rescue groups, the organization said.
