Is the Grocery Store Open on Christmas?

Wondering if you need to put your trash out on the normal day or whether you can stop at the grocery store for some last-minute party supplies? Look no further:

• City Hall will be closed on Christmas Day, and there will be no trash and recycling pickup on Tuesday.
• Winter break for the Lakewood City Schools starts on Monday.
• Turn in your library books this weekend—the Lakewood Public Library will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
• If you need some groceries, Nature’s Bin, Giant Eagle, Madison Bi-Rite, Sapell’s Bi-Rite and Marc’s will all be open on Christmas Eve. Most said they will have special holiday hours, though, so call ahead!
• Madison Bi-Rite is the only grocery store that will be open on Christmas Day.
• If you’re looking for somewhere to go for dinner on Christmas Day, the Buckeye Beer Engine and other local restaurants will be open.
