Jim Tressel Teaching Course at University of Akron Lakewood

Jim Tressel, the vice president of strategic development at the University of Akron, also knows a thing or two about coaching.

It makes sense that the legendary coach would lead a class for the university appropriately titled the Principle of Coaching.

The course is offered at the University of Akron Lakewood campus.

“The class is open for everyone,” said Suzanne Metelko, the director of the UA Lakewood branch.

“We all know that coaching is something that applies across the board. It’s not just about athletics.”

Metelko said he’s taught the course before, and it was well received.

The class is every Wednesday this fall. It will take place in Akron, but students across the campuses will be able to participate with the distance-learning program.

The course will be live and “highly interactive” and students will have the opportunity to interact with Tressel.

“There are a full array of classes and we’re registering immediately for all of them,” added Metelko.
