LAKEWOOD, OH — July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Lakewood so you can start planning now.

“We want citizens and visitors to enjoy Lakewood Park on the Fourth of July,” said Mayor Michael Summers. “With an estimated 20,000 in attendance, it’s easily the busiest day of the year for Lakewood Park. But safety is our No. 1 priority. We added some security measures to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July celebration.”

Lakewood's July 4th celebration is one of the largest in Northeast Ohio. The day starts with a parade at 10 a.m. on Lake Avenue. At 7 p.m., there will be live music from the Lakewood Project, Lakewood High's rock orchestra. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:45 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club Pavilion and Kids' Cove playground will be closed during the fireworks display.
