Lakewood Beverage is opening in the space formerly known as Red Rooster at 12901 Detroit Avenue.
Nilesh Patel, the owner of the new business, said he would like to open the business soon.
But first he needs approval from the city.
The Lakewood Architectural Board of Review told Patel last week that he needs to work on the designs of his two proposed signs at the property before he will get the green light.
However he will be a will to pull a temporary sign permit from the building department so he can open soon.
The Red Rooster store closed earlier this year.
