Plus, 40% of the proceeds will go to Autism Speaks!
Fäkän started experimenting with beer recipes about 7 years ago out his kitchen. He now has his own electronic brewing system in his basement where he creates new recipes every winter. Sub-Zero Beer-o was born during a freezing spell Fäkän saw videos of people throwing boiling water in the air to watch it quickly freeze. He applied the same concept by taking his beer batch straight from the stove to a huge snow pile in below freezing temperatures to quickly cool it down to preserve the natural taste of the brew.

Fäkän has mastered the art of brewing beer. Brewing is in his blood. Growing up on an apple and pear farm, Fäkän spent a lot of time making non-alcoholic ciders. Brewing beer came from his love for craft beer that he shares with his wife. As Fäkän describes his Sub-zero Beer-0 beer, “This is more than an American Brown Ale, it is a Cleveland Brown Ale!” This craft beer has a distinct malt and nut flavor with a hint of maple syrup. He hopes that the distinguished taste will be a Cleveland favorite.
Fäkän, an Intervention Specialist at Westside Community School of the Arts, lives in Lakewood with his wife Megan, and Pomeranian dog, Foxy. When not crafting new beer recipes, you can find him on the water where he enjoys water sports and scuba diving. When asked about his hobbies outside of brewing beer, his response "I collect hobbies as a hobby!"
