Lakewood Launches Websites To Help Businesses During Coronavirus

The websites will compile resources for small business owners who have been impacted by the virus.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Two new websites compiles resources meant to help Lakewood's small businesses navigate the new coronavirus, COVID-19, crisis. The websites were created by the city, LakewoodAlive, the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and numerous private partners.

The websites include lists of financial resources, places to get updates on the virus' spread, info on aid for unemployed workers and more. LakewoodAlive's page can be found on their website, and the city's page can be found on the city of Lakewood website.

"During this time of crisis, supporting Lakewood's vibrant small business community is more important than ever before," said Ian Andrews, LakewoodAlive's executive eirector. "Communication is essential in these difficult times. We are thankful to our partners for helping to make this webpage possible and hope it serves as a valuable resource for members of our small business community. We urge everyone to continue to support our small businesses in a safe manner during this difficult situation."

As of Wednesday morning, Ohio had 88 confirmed cases of COVID-19 the Ohio Department of Health announced. Twenty-six people are currently hospitalized with the virus. The youngest infected person is 2 and the oldest infected person is 91.

Ohio will see a surge of COVID-19 cases, according to Dr. Amy Acton, director of the state health department. Officials are now trying to secure protective equipment for medical professionals and hospital beds for the sick.
