Lakewood Scouts Show Their Appreciation On Scout Sunday

Lakewood Cub Scout Pack 115 served breakfast to members of Lakewood Presbyterian Church on Sunday.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit and beverages were on the menus for the Scout Sunday breakfast served by members of Pack 115.

Scout Sunday is an annual event where members of Pack 115 and Troop 115 show their appreciation to Lakewood Presbyterian Church. The tradition was started as a way to bring Scouting to the attention of the congregation and to allow Scouts to live out their "Duty to God" they pledge each week.

The scouts and scout leaders arrived early at the church's kitchen on Sunday morning to cook the breakfast and set up the room. The scouts began serving breakfast as soon as the church's Sunday's services ended.

In addition to making a delicious breakfast, the scouts also assisted church members by handing out service bulletins and attending worship service. These duties honor the Scout Law that says a "Scout is Reverent" and the Scouts of all ages promise to do their "Duty to God".
