Lakewood Students To Return Full Time Starting March 15

LAKEWOOD, OH — All Lakewood students will be in-class everyday starting March 15.

The Lakewood Schools fourth quarter learning plan begins March 15, Superintendent Mike Barnes announced. When the Ides of March roll around, students at all grade levels will begin attending class in-person Monday through Friday.

To prepare for the return of students, the district has implemented several new safety protocols, including:

  • Plexiglass shields for both students and staff
  • Mandatory mask wearing
  • Varied classroom sizes, meaning some classes will observe 3 feet of distance between students, rather than 6 feet
  • Cafeteria adjustments have been implemented to create as much space for students as possible
  • School building are equipped with hospital-grade air filters and are configured to pull in more outside air to reduce recirculated air

All of the new Lakewood Schools safety protocols have been shared on the district's website.

Students who have chosen to remain remote will continue to follow their existing schedules.
