Lakewood Wants You To Plant A Tree
The city is offering discounted shade trees to residents to encourage the growth of the urban tree canopy.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The city wants to grow its urban canopy of trees. To do so, it's offering shade trees at a discount to residents, hoping to spur more people into planting trees in their private yards.
The city said it is planning to place an order for shade trees for the coming spring and fall planting seasons. Residents will be able to buy a tree and have it professionally planted at their home for the same cost the city pays, plus tax.
Residents will be able to work directly with the city's 2018 tree planting contractor, The Greenleaf Group Inc. for the purchase and planting of shade trees. To select a tree and place an order, contact The Greenleaf Group Inc. at (330) 441-6326 or by email at greenleafgroup@hotmail.com to sign-up. Residents should be sure to mention that they are part of the 2018 City of Lakewood Shade Tree Purchase Program.
