Lakewood's Patrick Carroll Wins Judicial Excellence Award

Judge Patrick Carroll was named the 2021 recipient of the President's Award.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood Municipal Court Judge Patrick Carroll was named the 2021 recipient of the President’s Award for Judicial Excellence from the Association of Municipal and County Court Judges of Ohio.

The award recognizes outstanding judicial service and is given to a judge who had “contributed immeasurably to effect the efficient and fair administration of justice in addition to enhancing the public perception of the judiciary in Ohio.”

Carroll received the award during the Association of Municipal and County Court Judges of Ohio's annual conference. Judge Denise Moody presented him with the award.

Carroll, who will retire in 2021, was also the recipient of the President's Award for Judicial Excellence in 2019.

During his years in Lakewood, Carroll has given presentations on court administration, bail reform, landlord and tenant law, impact of fines, court costs and restitution. He also serves as Editorial Board Chair of the Ohio Jury Instructions Committee of the Ohio Judicial Conference.
