Man Suspected of Shooting Neighbor Charged With Felonious Assault
Bond was set for Lakewood resident at $50,000. He remains in jail.

The Lakewood man suspected of shooting his neighbor in the leg has been charged with felonious assault.
David Anderson, 29, 0f 2034 Bunts was arrested after this week, after police said he shot his neighbor in the leg following a possible dispute over gang membership on June 28.
“The claim of some gang activity may not hold up to scrutiny,” Lakewood Police Chief Timothy Malley said this week.

“There may be some other motivation that we have to explore.”
Anderson ran through the backyard of his home to Richland Avenue and shot the 21-year-old man, who was taken to Lakewood Hospital with unreported injuries, in the early morning of June 28.

Cleveland.com reported that Anderson was upset after the victim’s brother beat up another member of Anderson’s gang.
Officers got a search warrant, cleared the Bunts Road home, and found the 9mm handgun used in the shooting.
Bond was set for Anderson at $50,000, according to court records. He remains in jail.
