Mayor Summers Names LCSC As Grand Marshal of 4th of July Parade

Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers announced that the Lakewood Community Services Center will serve as the grand marshal for Fourth of July parade.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood Mayor Mike Summers has named Lakewood Community Services Center (LCSC) to be this year's grand marshal for the Fourth of July parade.

This year's 4th of July parade will be taking a different route due to construction. The parade is scheduled to step off on Lake Avenue at Nicholson Avenue at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2019, and conclude at Lakewood Park.

"The Lakewood Community Services Center has served as the city’s food bank for over 37 years," said Mayor Mike Summers. "Their services help Lakewood’s most vulnerable residents and strives to help them through a difficult time. We are proud to have LCSC and their volunteers serve as the grand marshals of the parade this year and want to honor their tireless work in the community. LCSC’s generosity towards the betterment of Lakewood is an inspiration for us all."

Joining in the parade will be musical favorites, the Lakewood High School Ranger Marching Band, St. Edward High School Marching Band, the Lochaber Pipe Band and Red Hackle Pipe Band.

After the parade, festivities will continue in Lakewood Park with games, food, activities and information provided by several of Lakewood’s community organizations. At 7:00 p.m., the Lakewood Project, Lakewood High School’s Youth Rock Orchestra, will perform at the Bandstand at Lakewood Park.

The Fourth of July will conclude following Lakewood’s annual fireworks extravaganza, set to begin at approximately 9:45 p.m.
