Meet The Lakewood Cops That Patrol Your City
Residents can meet local officers on Jan. 12 during a free event.

LAKEWOOD, OH — The city's next Coffee with a Cop event returns Jan. 12. From 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., officers will be hanging out at McDonald’s, 16407 Detroit Ave., meeting residents and chatting about...well, whatever they want.
The Coffee with a Cop event doesn't come with a preset agenda. Participants set the tone and tenor, asking questions about whatever they want. Want to discuss how hard being a cop is? Go ahead. Want to talk about the Cavs recent slump? Do it.
McDonald's is providing attendees with free coffee and soft drinks. Officers will also have tokens to provide to guests.

"This will hopefully help to strengthen the relationship between residents and the police, and also help a business out in the process," the city said on its website.
Coffee with a Cop is a national "movement" that puts on similar events throughout the nation and Northeast Ohio. Many neighboring departments put on their own Coffee with a Cop events.
