More Than 360 People Without Power In Lakewood
Nearly 1,300 FirstEnergy customers are without power in Cuyahoga County — mostly in Cleveland and Lakewood.

LAKEWOOD, OH — About 360 FirstEnergy customers in Lakewood are currently without power, according to the company's website. Heavy rains and strong winds hit Cuyahoga County Monday evening and are expected to hammer the region through Tuesday morning.
About 1,300 FirstEnergy customers are powerless in Cuyahoga County. Some 860 customers in Cleveland are powerless, and 361 are powerless in Lakewood. The rest of the outages are scatted throughout the region.
Power is expected to be restored to the majority of impacted Lakewood residents by midnight. The majority of the outages appear to be in the Birdtown neighborhood, around Athens Avenue. Crews have arrived on the scene to repair the outage, but are still investigating what exactly caused power to go out.

Monday's rain could morph into more powerful storms on Tuesday. Thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The agency issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook on Monday night, "There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms Tuesday night," the NWS said. "The strongest thunderstorms will have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts. There is also the possibility for some large hail or an isolated tornado."

"In addition, moderate to heavy rainfall is possible on Tuesday into Wednesday. Some of this rainfall may lead to localized flooding," the agency added.
