Murals May Be Coming To Lakewood Intersection
Public art installations have been proposed at the Warren-Madison intersection.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Three murals may soon be added to buildings near the Madison Avenue-Warren Road intersection. A request for proposals (RFP) from artists was issued this week by LakewoodAlive.
The murals would be on the north-facing facade of the Fifth Third Bank, the RTA Brasco transit shelter and the west-facing side of Doughnut Pantry, according to the RFP. While the nature of the artwork is not dictated by LakewoodAlive, the organization did say it wants the murals on Fifth Third Bank and the transit shelter to form a cohesive message.
The building murals will be printed, cut and installed directly to the brick walls, the RFP said. The substrate will read through the applied print and the surface will not be smooth.

LakewoodAlive received grant money from the county in February to dedicate toward improving Warren Road. The RFP said the improvement program would be implemented over a number of years.
