No More Monkeys Enrichment Opens In Lakewood

NMME is a "fun zone" that promotes manners, kindness, confidence and diversity for children up to 6 years.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Instilling kindness in our tiny humans is the passion of Heather McCormick, Founder of No More Monkeys Enrichment (NMME) located at 16210 Madison Avenue, Lakewood. NMME is a "fun zone" that promotes manners, kindness, confidence and diversity through weekly enrichment classes and a drop-in play zone. McCormick is a true believer in fun and learning can be done through having fun.

NMME offers weekly "monkey" classes on a monthly subscription. Parents are encouraged to participate in the classes with their children as the classes may also re-ignite their spark to have fun!

NMME is also a drop-in play zone during. A great space for the kids to come in and play. There is a separate area for grown-ups to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

The idea came 20 years back when Heather was caring for a family to create a space for children to learn to kind and confident through the art of play. "I wanted to build a giant fun land where children feel safe and happy," says McCormick.

Local artists Claudia Yannucci, Rob Miller, Deb Douglas, Chris Tuma, Willow Hawks and Brian Hylkema lent their musical talents for the musical piece of the program and Nick Ferrone designed the NMME logo.

Every month we will give back to a different local charity. McCormick recalls being a single mother accepting kindness from others. She is incredibly grateful now having the opportunity to be on the other end, giving the kindness she once received.

"Be silly, be honest, be kind," by Ralph Waldo Emerson is the quote that McCormick lives by. "You give what you receive," says McCormick.
