SR 2 Construction Ramps Up Friday

LAKEWOOD, OH — Crews will close all lanes on SR 2/Main Avenue Bridge west, between W. 3rd and W. 28th streets, on Friday from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Traffic will be detoured along W. 3rd Street to Detroit-Superior Avenue to W. 25th Street to SR 2 west.

Crews are performing traffic switching operations, the Ohio Department of Transportation said. When SR 2 re-opens on Saturday morning, work will take place in the center lane of the three-lane section on the bridge. The two-lane section between W. 3rd Street and Lakeside Avenue will continue to have a right lane closure.

During this phase of construction, the inside (or left) lane will remain open at all times. Work will happen Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. During that time, the following closures will be implemented, ODOT said:

  • Right (outside) lane westbound between W. 3rd St. and W. 28th St.
  • Lakeside entrance ramp to SR 2 west. Detour via W. 9th St. to Detroit-Superior Ave. to W. 25th St. to SR 2 west

In addition, SR 2 west exit ramp to W. 28th St. will only be accessible from the left lane, ODOT said in an email.
