St. Edward Will Stream Playoff Basketball Game

Since OHSAA changed its spectator rules due to coronavirus, the private high school will stream its upcoming playoff basketball game.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Since OHSAA has restricted access to upcoming indoor sporting events, St. Edward High has been given permission to stream its regional playoff basketball game against Lorain on Wednesday night.

The Eagles will play Lorain at James A. Rhodes Arena in Akron. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. The live stream for the game will begin at 6:45 p.m. The Eagles won their last playoff game against Rhodes High, 73-46.

Gov. Mike DeWine recommended all indoor sporting events, at any level, be played without spectators. He said exceptions could be made for family members of players. This prompted OHSAA to void all already purchased tickets, offer refunds, and start a new attendance policy.

According to OHSAA, student-athletes (both players and cheerleaders) can only designate four family members who can purchase tickets the game. Coaches for each team can designate two family members. School administrators and bus drivers each get one free ticket for themselves and a guest.
