Stolen Car Hit Van While Fleeing Lakewood Police
A stolen car was spotted cruising into Lakewood and fled from police.

LAKEWOOD, OH — A stolen car hit a van while fleeing from police in Lakewood.
According to Lakewood Police Chief Kevin Kaucheck, the city's camera-based license plate readers identified a stolen car on W. 117th and Madison. The vehicle had been taken from a Lakewood resident.
Officers caught up to the stolen car at the Get-Go gas station near I-90. When the driver saw officers, he took off and drove into traffic, striking a van on W. 117th. The people in the van were not hurt, Kaucheck told Patch.

The driver then sped off into Cleveland and Lakewood police chose not to pursue the car because of the danger to the public, Kaucheck said.
Officers have not yet identified the driver of the stolen car, Kaucheck said.
