Superintendent Leaving Lakewood Schools
Superintendent Michael Barnes is leaving the Lakewood Schools to return to Mayfield.

LAKEWOOD, OH — Lakewood Schools Superintendent Michael Barnes will leave the district after the school year.
Barnes will move back to the Mayfield Schools, where he will replace Keith Kelly who is retiring Aug. 1. The Lakewood Board of Education will meet soon to determine how to move forward.
“While we as a Board are disappointed that Dr. Barnes will be leaving us after the end of the school year, we appreciate everything he has brought to Lakewood,” Board President Emma Petrie Barcelona said. “We know he will be fully committed to the Lakewood City Schools for the remainder of his superintendency and through this unique school year.”
