Think books videos, music CDs and magazines.

However, the big attraction to the Summer Sale is the $3 for a bag full of books.

The annual sale is slated for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

With some books starting at 10 cents each, it’s a sale for the bargain shoppers.

“Many book sales have books spread out on tables,” said Paul Tepley, a long-time volunteer at the sale.

“We have them perfectly shelved.”

Members get access to a preview sale from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Don’t have a membership? No problem. Memberships may be bought at the door for $2, or $5 for the family.

The Friends’ book sale is an annual tradition — about 30 years running.

“How can you go wrong paying $3 for a bag of books,” Tepley said.

The sale items' subject categories include, art, biography, cooking, gardening, children's, home repair, math, mystery, popular fiction, science, sports, travel and history.

Get all that?

The revenue from the sale will be used to benefit the Lakewood Public Library with the purchase of materials, programming and special projects.
