Weather Alert: Snow Bears Down On Northeast Ohio

Significant snow expected for first time this season.

The National Weather Service late Friday morning issued a lake-effect snow warning for Cuyahoga County and other lakefront counties in Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. The snow was already falling Friday afternoon, and expected to continue Saturday.

The warning will remain in effect till 9 a.m. Saturday. Snow accumulations of two to five inches are expected during the remaining daylight hours Friday, with additional accumulations of two to four inches Friday night and early Saturday, according to the Weather Service.

Periods of most intense snow were expected Friday afternoon, and then intensify again this evening. The Weather Service said visibility would be reduced as bands of snow and untreated surfaces are covered with snow.
