Durant and Curry lead Warriors past Cavs 132-113 to take 2-0 lead

Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Lebron James, Tyronne Lue, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Steve Kerr,

The Golden State Warriors again overwhelmed Cleveland in the Finals, this time 132-113 in Game 2 to take a commanding lead in this series. The Golden State machine seems unstoppable and has extended their freakish playoffs run to 14-0. The Warriors are the NBA's first 14-0 in the postseason and could win their second title in three seasons in Cleveland with two more wins.

Durant was brilliant again for the Warriors with 33 points and 13 rebounds. Stephen Curry dropped 32 points and was a perfect 14-for-14 at the foul line. Curry added 11 assists and 10 rebounds for a triple double.

Lebron James finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists in 39 minutes. He tied Magic Johnson for first place all-time with 8 triple-doubles in the Finals, and has 18 playoff triple doubles overall, trailing only Johnson (30).

James and Curry became the first players in NBA history to record triple doubles in the same game. It was only the second time in playoff history that two rivals had managed triple doubles in the same game, the other coming in 1970 by New York’s Walt Frazier and Milwaukee’s Lew Alcindor, who would later change his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Kevin Love contributed 27 points and seven boards for the Cavs. Kyrie Irving added 19 points and seven assists, but shot 8-of-23.

Not even the Cavs' trusty black T-shirt jerseys could save them. They dusted off the T-shirts they wore in last season's Game 7 victory hoping for a spark. Nothing!

Once again, the third quarter was the Cavs' undoing. The Warriors only led 67-64 at halftime, but were ahead by 14 heading into the fourth. They closed the period on a 14-4 spurt over the final 5:41.

After tying a Finals record low with four turnovers in Game 1, the Warriors were really sloppy with the ball in Game 2. They coughed up 20 turnovers for 23 Cavs' points.

Coach Steve Kerr was back on the bench for the Warriors after missing the past 11 games due to complications from back surgery. Whether it's him or former Cavs coach Mike Brown running the team, it hasn't mattered.

"He's been around, the last couple weeks especially, giving us input and giving us what he's got," Curry said of Kerr. "But having him back on the bench means a lot. We love his presence. We love his voice. And we're a full group when he's out here. So that means a lot."

The Cavaliers face the same situation they faced last year, falling down 2-0 heading back to Cleveland. As you may remember, they won Game 3, lost Game 4, and then rattled off one of the best three-game stretches we’ve ever seen to win the title.

This is not that Warriors team. That team didn't have Kevin Durant. As Lebron James established after the 22-point loss in Game 1, Durant with the Warriors makes a huge difference. The mountain climb is steeper. There is no suspension coming. This is the best version of the Warriors the Cavs have faced in the three years they've dueled in The Finals.

COMING UP FOR THE CAVS: Game 3 tips off at 9:00 pm on Wednesday night and the Cavaliers will try to make this a series hopefully.
