Federal Funding Available For Pandemic Response Efforts
State Rep. John Rogers announced the availability of funds on Wednesday.

COLUMBUS, OH— State Rep. John Rogers (D-Mentor-on-the-Lake) today announced Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants will be made available to cover certain local pandemic response costs in Ohio. Funds will go to state and local authorities as well as non-profits, such as hospitals, working at the direction of local governments.

“Local governments across Ohio faced with having to operate on very tight budgets do incredible work,” Rep. Rogers said. “These FEMA funds could help with the financial burden that our local communities face in trying to address this public health crisis, so that they can continue to focus more on delivering necessary services to residents.”
Once an application for reimbursement is approved, FEMA will cover 75 percent of certain pandemic response costs, such as:

· Emergency Operation Center costs;
· State agency purchases in response to COVID-19;
· Disinfection of eligible public facilities;
· Personal Protection Equipment;
· Temporary medical facilities and enhanced hospital capacity.
