High Wind Advisory in Effect for Lake and Cuyahoga Counties
Gusts are expected to exceed 45 miles per hour today. The advisory will be in place until 10 p.m. tonight.

CUYAHOGA and LAKE COUNTIES, OH - High speed wind gusts will impact drivers in Cuyahoga and Lake counties today, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) warns. Drivers should be extra cautious as they move about their commutes.
The weather advisory came from the National Weather Service and the high wind warning will remain in place until 10 p.m. tonight. Gusts are expected to exceed 46 miles per hour.
ODOT passed along its warning to drivers, asking motorists to drive a little slower and keep both their hands on the steering wheel today. Drivers of larger vehicles, like SUVs, vans, or trucks, should take even more care because they're at a heightened risk of tipping over.

"We always suggest that driver’s match their driving to the weather conditions," said Marissa McDaid, ODOT spokesperson. "Slow down, keep both hands on the wheel. Don’t overcorrect."
McDaid adds that it's always good for drivers to be extra-aware of their surroundings and other drivers, regardless of whether you're in a tiny sedan or a large SUV.
