Mentor Accepts Resumes for Empty Council Seat

Interested parties can apply until 5 p.m. on Aug. 16

People interested in filling the Mentor City Council Ward 2 seat left open by Carolyn Bucey's resignation have a week to apply.

Council will accept resumes from interested parties until 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16. Materials should be submitted to Elizabeth A. Limestahl, Mentor's clerk of council.

Here are the main requirements, according to legislation council will vote on during a special meeting at 9 a.m. on Saturday:

  • Must be a register voter
  • Must be a Mentor resident for at least two years
  • Must be resident of Ward 2 for at least one year. Both periods must immediately precede submission of letter of interest and resume.
Mentor's next regular council meeting is Aug. 20.
