Former Mentor Youth Cheerleading treasurer arrested on charges of felony theft and misuse of credit cards, police said.

MENTOR, Ohio: Painesville resident Shannon Lewis, a former treasurer of the Mentor Youth Cheerleading Association, was arrested this week on charges of felony theft and misuse of credit cards, according to the Mentor Police Department.

Lewis, who served as treasurer of the MYCA from April to June of 2015, is said to have made thousands of dollars in unauthorized charges on credit cards belonging to the MYCA. Police said they have financial records and other evidence that was uncovered during the investigation of Lewis that prove that she had made more than $13,000 in unauthorized credit card transactions on MYCA's credit card accounts.

Mentor Police said Lewis is currently awaiting her initial court appearance.
