With spring break and Greek recruitment approaching, Miami’s rec center’s most crowded months are ahead, making it hard to find an elliptical or spot to stretch.

It can also be difficult to fit any sort of break time in your busy schedule to workout, especially as school work starts piling on. The rec has personal training and group exercise available to you.

Junior Andrea Ebling is a group fitness instructor at the rec, teaching kettleball and tabata. Ebling offers other suggestions for getting in shape. “Trying new exercises and working different muscles of your body is always beneficial, especially if you really want to see a change,” Ebling said.

With Eblign's classes, you don’t have to worry about when the next treadmill will be available as the workouts combine cardio with basic movements. This builds strength training and muscular endurance, according to Miami’s rec center description of the classes.

“I know girls specifically are getting ready for spring break when they come back in January, and I take that into account when putting together my workouts,” Ebling said. Students who take Ebling’s classes also can notice a difference and like that the workouts get more rigorous.

“ I love Andrea’s classes," said Junior Lissy Schmidt. "I always feel challenged and I look forward to getting back into shape.”
